AJ
Re: bullets for 30/06 [ QUOTE ] Deer just aren't that tough to kill and don't require all of the super-whombat, high tech bullets that marketing folks would like us all to believe. [/ QUOTE ] Very true. The only time I use the stout bullets is when I am pushing them at super fast velocities. When the speed gets over 3200 fps, I like a bonded bullet, particularly the Scirocco. For standard cartridges like the 30-06, 308 Win, 270 Win, etc, the plain jane run of the mill soft points will work as well on deer as the high end stuff. Stinger-Hunter
Re: bullets for 30/06 [ QUOTE ] i have used winchester ballistic silver tips in 150gr for years and have not had any problem [/ QUOTE ] I agree, they are great. Both of my 30-06's shoot them well. Savage Bolt and Woodsmaster semi auto.
TexasDeerHunter
Re: bullets for 30/06 I just loaded up some 150 accu bond's for my 06 and hope to try them out this morning. Guest Xen
Re: bullets for 30/06 i like to paint the ends of my bullets with anti-seize lubricant so that they don't slow down when they hit the deer....
