Some that I didn't see listed, Whitesnake,Great White, Guns-n-Roses, Poison, Tesla,AC/DC, Van Halen, Bon Jovi. There are a bunch more.

Most of these would be right there near or at the top of my list along with bad company, cinderella, and 38 special.

Damm Yankees is another that would be up there.

Re: greatest rock bands of all time...

I like Nugent, but I wouldn't ever pretend that Dam# Yankees was a "Greatest Rock Band of all Time".

And what gives with Simon and Garfunkle or Chicago? Good groups, lots of hits...but "Rock"???

Some people's definition of "Rock" is pretty broad. And "greatest"???

Heres what I do when searching for some older tunes.Select audio, doesnt really matter if you select artist or song. Then search for things like

70's Etc

Top 50

top of the charts

Rock classics

you get the drift, always works for me and im always blown away from seeing some of the older songs and artist I used to know and just forgot about. BTW I use Ares not bearshare but should produce the same outcome. Hope this helps. Helped me.

Anyone mention the doors

Actually a lot of those bands use to fit into the "Rock" genre. By todays standards and after the birth of death metal and shredders they are tame. Regardless, at the time they were the latest greatest rockers. Chuck Berry is a good example as well as Elvis.

Thats why bands like Nirvana made such a huge splash. They turned music in an entire new direction. Which brings me to my next point, todays music turned a new direction and got lost. They either need to turn around or stop and ask for directions.... grin.gif

Todays "punk" isn't punk. ........end of rant......
