Guest Andrea
Well, that was a close one wasn't it??? Ohio better get it together before next weekend............... They'll be risking an upset to another un-ranked school.
MichiganHuntr1
Re: Ohio State/Illinois Eh Michigan Almost lost to Ball State as well I think both teams are looking forward to their meeting and not worrying about these teams. Which is stupid.

dg
Re: Ohio State/Illinois Yeah, OSU and MI won some real chest-thumpers there. I wonder if the negative posters from the WVU-UL game post will give us their "expert" comments on this one? ha ha

As far as Michigan...let me just say I'm even more confindent about the 18th now...wasn't sure that was possible but Ball State did it for me. OK, now I'll save my talking for OSU's 2nd championship in 4 years.

Tominator
Re: Ohio State/Illinois Any given Saturday in the Big 10............ Didn't see it. I was watching my own carnival in the woods. What a day, but I digress.... I told Tom on the way home that this might actually be good for Ohio State, might refocus them a bit. Northwestern could do the same thing to them next week. muggs
Re: Ohio State/Illinois Illinois is a much better team than you guys are giving them credit for. Actually, I'll say that for the whole Big Ten this year. Not many ranked teams, but its as solid as always. There's a lot of parity in the conference so each week something unexpected happnens and that confuses the sports writers who don't follow the conference that closely too. I'll give the SEC the nod for the best conference this year, but the Big Ten is closer than some people probably realize. Bottomline, its Big Ten Football. Plus, Illinois is starting a true freshman QB and he's just starting to come into his own. He struggled during the beginning of the season, but he's learned and is much more poised now. I expected this to be a tough game. Not as close as it was, but tough. btw my Mushigan boys- last time I checked Ball State plays in the -->MAC<-- If I were you two, I'd be nervous. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Ohio State/Illinois umm ok..illionois...2 wins this year..they aren't good...one big ten win since 2004...2 big ten wins in their last 31 big ten games..THEY ARE NOT GOOD!...they would MAYBE finish 500 in the mac...they both played teams that they should have whooped...and they didn't...sit there and keep telling yourself that it was OK to only score 17 points on them, 0 in the second half...the offense was held to the lowest points total of the year..and lowest passing yards of the year, AGAINST ILLINOIS!!and like i said before..if they only put up 17 on illinois (all in the first half)...they don't have a chance against michigans defense...and Michigan doesn't have anything to worry about...defense played good yesterday..pass defense could have been a tad better..but other than the 2 or 3 "big" plays...they were ok...and the offense put up 500+ yards..other than Harts fumble (first in 665 carries) and hennes INT for a TD...they played great...2 players with 100+ rushing yards, and another with 60+ yards
muggs
Re: Ohio State/Illinois Bottomline...the Buckeye's haven't been in a close game all year and this was good for them. Might just wake them up and get them to realize being #1 is gonna get everyone's best effort thrown at you. [ QUOTE ] 2 wins this year..they aren't good... [/ QUOTE ] Their defense is darn good, and starting a true freshman has given them a few losses they didn't deserve. Juice was highly recruited by a lot of big time schools including OSU...he's playing good now. [ QUOTE ] and the offense put up 500+ yards..other than Harts fumble (first in 665 carries) and hennes INT for a TD...they played great...2 players with 100+ rushing yards, and another with 60+ yards [/ QUOTE ] You and BB11 should hang out, you'd get along because you two are definitely some serious stat crunchers. Listen, how much you bench doesn't help you on a football field...and stats are something created for nerds you can't actually get out there and play the game themselves. Sure, they can sometimes give you a very general feel for what a team is all about, but there's a lot more than you can't see when you look at a stat sheet. What do you think about my boy Troy Smith's ability to destroy Michigan? How about Tressel's ability to expose Carr for the horrid game planner he is? Like I said...be afraid...be very afraid. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Ohio State/Illinois [ QUOTE ] What do you think about my boy Troy Smith's ability to destroy Michigan? [/ QUOTE ] NOT GOING TO HAPPEN...if fact...he is one step closer to losing the heisman after that performance. i wouldn't give it to him anyways...BECAUSE HE IS NOT THAT GOOD...brady quinn have better numbers than he does...but i forgot..stats me nothing to you...maybe thats because the Ohio State Numbers sucked yesterday, get over it muggs...they played like crap yesterday..no excuses...illinois...no matter how hard you try...is still Illinois. [ QUOTE ] Sure, they can sometimes give you a very general feel for what a team is all about [/ QUOTE ] yeah...season averages maybe...but game by game...the numbers don't lie....Michigan put up big numbers on the ground...and put points on the scoreboard...Ohio State didn't...get over it...they aren't going to dominate the game like you think .
