dg
My wife got me an electric meat grinder last christmas from Cabela's and after about five times of use, it quit grinding. The design is terrible with a metal drive gear matching to a fine tooth plastic gear. I returned it with a refund and want to get another one. Any suggestions for under a $100? The one I had was made by Prago or something like that. I've seen some from wal-mart and Dicks Sporting Goods and was wondering about those. TIA. tedicast
Re: Who Makes a Reasonably Priced Good Grinder! I went through my share of cheap grinders, and never was close to happy with them. About 4 years ago, me, my brother, and 2 of our friends went in on a Cabelas 3/4 horse comercial grinder. It ended up costing a little over $400 but split 4 ways it was reasonable. We have been totally happy with it.
OJR
Re: Who Makes a Reasonably Priced Good Grinder! I bought a Kitchen Aid mixer, grinder, stuffer combination about 25 years ago and it is still working great! In fact I just ground 12 pounds of meat for jerky with it! The jerky came out great! wtnhunt
Re: Who Makes a Reasonably Priced Good Grinder! Using the cabelas $100 grinder here that you said you had problems with and have had no problems with it at all. Been pretty happy with it, and it paid for itself the first season. RangerClay
Re: Who Makes a Reasonably Priced Good Grinder! I have a 1HP grinder that was given to me as a gift. It came from Gander Mountain and it has the Gander Mountain Brand name. It costs about $89 but is usually on sale this time of year. My parents paid $79 I think. This grinder is awesome!! It grinds meat as fast as I can stuff it in. I am very happy with it!!!! It also comes with all the tubes you need for stuffing sausages. I did a review about it in the Hunting Equipment Room last fall but I cannot find it now. I highly recommend this grinder
