bbass300
I have a Knight (Bighorn) muzzleloader and went to sight it in today from 100 yards and i could not even get a seven inch group. The misses were all over the target and not where i wanted them, even at 75 yards it was way inconsistent. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Im shooting 100grn powerdex pellets and 240 grn 45 cal. premium hollow pt sabots
AJ
Re: accuracy problem How often are you swabbing the bore? Have you worked up and or down in powder levels other than pellets? Have you tried other sabots? Just because they are "premium" does not mean your gun will like them. What primer are you using? Have you tried others? Are you shooting open sights or a scope? Guest bowhunter56
Re: accuracy problem Are all the screws tight, if you have a scope, give us more info, as aj has asked.
johnf
Re: accuracy problem My first two thoughts would be a dirty-bore or a scope/sight problem. If that doesn't help, change bullets.

VTbowman
Re: accuracy problem I had a bear of a time finding a sabot that my remington 700ml likes some years back. I mean it took years since I did not want to buy 5 different boxes of different sabots to test all at one time. Quite possible your scope has gone south but I would eliminate the different sabot thing 1st and keep dibs on what the scope does in the process. Probably not the answer your looking for since it require you to spend more $$$ but MLs are finiky when it comes to loads. Like AJ said too, maybe 100g pellets is to much or to little for that load in your gun, reguardless of if it worked before in another gun or one exactly like yours. Loose powder helps you fine tune loads. Try the TC shockwaves. Thats what I finaly found worked in my pick ML and I still use them today. billkay
Re: accuracy problem Try shooting with open sites and see if that solves the problem. My guess it's the scope.
89importeater
Re: accuracy problem yea i second the shockwaves, i tried hornady, powerbelts and some others in my muzzleloader and the shockwaves works great. the powerbelts did well to but a little to exspensive for me. i am also shooting 100 grans of pyrodex pellets out of a cva buckhorn
PA_RIDGE_RUNNER
Re: accuracy problem I too shoot a knight Bighorn. I am using ole stinky (goex). I started with 80 gr and a 240 gr .429 Hornady XTP and got great results. I then found the Harvester crush rib sabots and switched to .45 cal and it got greater. My best load as of now is the 45 cal Hornady 300 gr xtp in a crush rib sabot infront of 80 gr of ffg Gooex. I swab between each shot with an alcohol patch and two dry ones. At 100 yds My best group off the bench was about 3/4 inch. I also shot a doe last month with this combo and actually recovered the bullet. It had traveled through the fleshy part of the front leg angling back through everything exiting the lower opposite flank and burried in the lower rear ham. It without hitting bone expanded to about .64 in a near perfect mushroom. I think I am in love with this combo.
