muggs
Re: Louisville #3 in BCS??? you can't really look at points per game, and yards per game when it comes to the Buckeye's. Jim Tressel really takes his foot off the offensive gas pedal when they're up by 14 points or more in the second half. He's a class act, and even though he knows it may hurt his BSC standings he doesn't do it anyway. Another thing you have to realize is OSU's willingness to take on Texas the past two years. Most programs avoid out of conference match ups with Top Ten teams like the plague. Texas and OSU welcomed it. Last year it cost OSU a shot at the championship and it will most likely do the same to Texas this year. That should earn major props with the BCS alone. Gator
Re: Louisville #3 in BCS??? Gee, you mean that Ohio State should get "special" recognition 'cause they play Texas??? Heck, look at the stretch Florida just went on, Tennesee, Lsu, Auburn, Ga, ALL of these are inner conference games, with big rivalries........Florida plays them EVERY year, Oh yeah, they also play Alabama........ c_lou
Re: Louisville #3 in BCS??? [ QUOTE ] That just means the SEC is a harder conference.......Just noone wants to admit it [/ QUOTE ] I'll admit that. There is very little chance that an SEC team will go undefeated. The conference from top to bottom is just to good. As much as I love Big 10 football, there are usually only 4 really good teams in the Big 10. muggs
Re: Louisville #3 in BCS??? I think the SEC and Big Ten are the two strongest conferences year in and year out, with SEC being the best this year. Down year for the Big then, true, but its not as weak as people think. Bottomline, the Big Ten is the first conference in 70+ years to have the #1 and #2 teams at the same time. I also don't think Florida, Auburn, LSU would go undefeated in the Big Ten this year. Not that they're bad teams, but like I said, the Big Ten is solid. I guess we'll just have to wait until bowl time.

Gator
Re: Louisville #3 in BCS??? The BSC has it close, but I think it should be: 1. OSU 2. Michigan 3. Florida 4. Auburn 5. Texas btw- you guys realize Illinois was a triple overtime win for my Buckeyes in 2002 right? And we all know what happened that year. I ask you...is it destiny? fate?
Gator
Re: Louisville #3 in BCS??? unioncountyslayer
Re: Louisville #3 in BCS??? Last time I checked Florida had lost a game, right? You're never going to get a chance at the National title with a loss, if there are two unbeatens at the top of the rankings, period. I don't understand the debate. If Louisville runs the table, they at least deserve a shot at the title. These West Coast teams have pathetic schedules as well and they are always at the top if they go unbeaten, or have a single loss. If USC was in the ACC or SEC they would never have had the winning streak they did.
Gator
Re: Louisville #3 in BCS??? I NEVER said anything about Florida deserving a shot at the title. And YES it IS possible to get a shot at the National Title with a loss, OU did it in 2003, heck, they didn't even win their conference title. My ONLY question is how Loiusville is higher in the BCS than Florida, when they have a crappier schedule
MagnoliaHunter
I\'m ending this argument right now. I'm a Mississippi State fan, we suck big time, and we almost beat West Virginia. So there is NO WAY West Virginia or Louisville is top ten, much lest top 3. They wouldn't be top 3 in the SEC much less the nation.

[ QUOTE ] Bottomline, the Big Ten is the first conference in 70+ years to have the #1 and #2 teams at the same time. [/ QUOTE ] That'd be a good point, if it was true. In 1971, Nebraska was #1 and Oklahoma was #2 when they played. The sports world knows this meeting as The Game of the Century.
