dg
Re: I\'m ending this argument right now. [ QUOTE ] I'm a Mississippi State fan, we suck big time, and we almost beat West Virginia. So there is NO WAY West Virginia or Louisville is top ten, much lest top 3. They wouldn't be top 3 in the SEC much less the nation. [/ QUOTE ] What game and what year? 42-14 is almost? Steven
Re: I\'m ending this argument right now. If we're arguing schedules and head-to-head match ups... Ohio State beat Illinois 17-10 Rutgers beat Illinois 33-0 What does that mean?
Guest Finn
Rutgers beats Louisville Well, we won't have to argue this after Rutgers won last night.
buckbuster11
Re: Rutgers beats Louisville If Rutgers had a QB, they would be serious national title contenders. They have one of the best backs in the country and that defense is awesome, but from what I saw last night that QB stinks.
c_lou
Re: Rutgers beats Louisville Why don't we just give Rutgers, Louisville, & West Virginia a share of the title. Clearly they are the best 3 teams in the country. Let us all bow down to the supremacy of the Big East.

[/ QUOTE ] well its kind of hard to ignore the big east...a little over a week ago they had 3 unbeaten teams...is the conference great? no...will they have a team in the national championship? after last night...no, unless a lot, and i mean a lot happens...but that conference will still have 5 out of its 8 teams in a bowl game...they aren't as bad as people think, but they are no SEC or Big Ten... [/ QUOTE ] This is football, not basketball. The Big East is a joke of a football conference. BB11- I just don't like when one of these upstart teams goes off and everybody wants to pump them up as some great team. It happens every year. Next year it will probably be Western School for Drama. Wasn't it a few years ago that Utah and Boise State were undefeated and everybody blew smoke up there buts? There are really only 4 conferences that are any good. SEC, Big 10, Big 12, and the Pac 10(barely thanks to USC). The rest can go fight for the HeadOn.com bowl played in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. buckbuster11
Re: Rutgers beats Louisville LOL....wow. I tend to agree with you on just about everything you said. I see the Big East, and all their undefeated teams still pretty weak in comparison to some other conferences but some of the facts are a little surprising. The Big East has one of the best non conference records in the country as of last week. Everybody was saying the exact same thing last year about the Big East until West Virginia went to the Sugar Bowl and blew the doors off of Georgia. Now can WV, Louisville, or Rutgers compete with Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, Texas, etc.. doubt it. But I bet they could handle almost any other teams in those conferences. In other words, I don't think those teams are as good as the media is making them out to be, but they probably aren't as bad as you make them out to be either. Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Rutgers beats Louisville its not like these teams have just shown up out of no where...well other than rutgers, but i see them playing well for the next few years...louisville has been building their program for the last 4 years, and as BB11 said, west virginia went to the suger bowl last year and beat georgia...is it not ok for teams or a conference to get better?? they aren't a great conference, but take USC out of the pac-10 and i bet rutgers, lousiville and WV could compete in that conference...maybe even the big 12...so according to you...the "national" championship should only be allowed to go to one of those 4 conferences...as lee corso would say.."not so fast my friend"....does rutgers belong at #3 now? IMO no...did louisville or WV...YEP...the only reason Rutgers won't is becuase they just showed up out of no where...but the other two have been around for a couple years oh, and for the record..Boise State is once again undefeated
c_lou
Re: Rutgers beats Louisville The National Championship will always go to somebody in those 4 conferences. There is a reason for that, they are the best in the country. I agree with you on the Pac-10, take out USC and all you have is Cal. every other year or so. You have to go back 20 years or so to get a non-Big10, Big12, Pac10, SEC champ. I will am also throwing out the Miami teams of the early 90's because well that just wasn't fair, they were scary good for a few years. There is a reason that non-big 4 conference teams never take the title, THE CONFERNCES USUALLY SUCK. Of course you are going to have an undefeated team in the lesser conferences, because they play powder-puff teams. And have you seen Boise State's schedule this year? Sacromento State are you kidding me.

[ QUOTE ] And have you seen Boise State's schedule this year? Sacromento State are you kidding me. [/ QUOTE ] did i say anywhere in the post that there were great and deserving of a shot at the title? NO...they ARE undefeated though, and look at their record since the 2000-2001 seson, they are 72-13...thats not to shabby, but because the the other teams in their cnference, they won't get the recognition.... no one is saying they are as good as those other conferences, but to say the Big east is a joke is rediculous...they are slowly proving themselves and if it continues, there will be 5 "major" conferences
c_lou
Re: Rutgers beats Louisville All right you got me with FSU but GT was a shared title with Washington correct? And if Boise State is undefeated why aren't the analysts kissing there buts? I guess I just hate when the analysts start saying all these mediocer teams are the greatest ever and deserve a shot. Just like Marshall a few years ago.
dg
Re: Rutgers beats Louisville It's funny how y'all hold the rankings so dear to your heart when it supports your side of the story, but for the other conferences to have teams in the rankings, they are over-rated. Too funny. Catch your breath and exhale. Now sit back and enjoy the games!
