Wanting a Zero Effect is about to kill me, keeping up with the Jones' is running harder then the rut right now. Can we get come fors and against for both. Ive currently shot a biscuit for 3 years now and LOVE IT. But my main question is really for the ZE..does it still hold the arrow on a shot strait below you? look forward to all the opinions. thanks

Re: Zero Effect vs. Wisker Biscuit

I never shot the Muzzy ZE, but from the looks of it I would say a straight down shot. That it will not hold the arrow where you need it. But hey, why quit with what is working for you!? I love my WB rest. Then again, me personally, I would try not to take that straight down shot. I think Gary(GWSmith) has a Muzzy ZE, wait till he gets to see this!

Re: Zero Effect vs. Wisker Biscuit

If you get a Zero Effect rest I reccomend getting this:

ArrowHolder.jpgArrow Holder

It holds the arrow shaft in place even during the draw until the hook arm lifts then it lets go without any noise.

Benefits of a Zero Effect are in the name of it...No Fletching Contact at all, No vanes torn up or loosened, and something most people dont think about...it forces proper shooting form by you having to keep the bow more in a vertical position before a shot reducing the chance of you torqueing the riser canting the bow too far. If you want that ability you can get it by building up the layers of shelf liner on the hook arm on each side of the arrow shaft. Be careful not to add too much or you'll get fletching contact.

It's by far the most quiet rest I've ever shot.

You can shoot any style Vanes or Feathers.

You dont have to ever worry about which way the fletchings are because of the type of rest...nock an arrow without looking and shoot.

Drawbacks that I've seen with it:

Without an arrow holder of some type it's almost impossible to keep an arrow shaft in the center of the rest while stalking and it Not bounce around(unless you keep a finger over the arrow).

You have to keep the hook arm covered with a shelf liner to reduce noise you may get with some arrows during the draw.

Proper adjustment timing of the hook arm "Lift" is essential if your shooting a very short arrow shaft or the back of the broadheads blades will hit the front of the riser.

As far as shooting straight down I would rather let the deer take a few steps and get a better angle on the vitals. I'd do my best not to let the deer get that close without shooting it anyways grin.gif

Re: Zero Effect vs. Wisker Biscuit

I have shot the zero effect for the past 6 years. I would not have any other rest. I am rough on my equipmet and have not tore one up yet. As for straight down I don't know but I have shot deer a under ten yards and they are not still alive to tell how good it works. If I were you I would buy one. Good luck and happy blood trails.
