Guest Greener
I've got a question regarding hide care while I'm in deer camp. I'm heading out this week and will be bringing my calls and 223 along with me for some extracurricular activity. What should I do with the hides until I can get them home. Temps will be around or below the freezing mark. Will they be ok if I skin them out and then let them freeze. Or is better to not let them freeze and just keep them cool? Any info would be appreciated. If I manage to get a couple I'd hate for them to go bad. Thanks in advance
sureshot
Re: Care of hides while in hunt camp If the temps are below freezing you will have no prob for a few days to keep them, eihter skin them and bag them hide out and let them freeze,if keeping them whole I would hang them by there back feet out of the sun preferable a old building or barn, they will keep all winter if frozen if not froze will keep good for a few days for sure!good luck,
