TreeWalker
Since I don't have much time to prepare for our rifle opener as fas as scouting (Opener is this Friday), I threw out a bag of corn and hung a trail cam (and a doe-in-heat scent wafer) just to see what might be in this area....... Now a guy has got to keep in mind, that this area has never been known to produce any WTs of any size...it's been known for mostly Muleys.....so i was relativley suprised to catch this guy on my cams......I've seen him through binos, and he's got massive bases with bladed brows, but kind peters out the further his mainbeams go.........should gross 140+

TreeWalker
Re: Ol\' Hoss [ QUOTE ] Another great buck! Are you going to let him grow? [/ QUOTE ] Actually my wife has a WT buck tag this year, so i think I may try to put her on him....would be a great trophy... A couple of us were visiting, and we think that this buck is at about his peak...knowing the area and seeing how big his bases and bladed his brows are, lends me to beleive he may not get any better..... As for me, I'm not really sure what I'm gonna do come Friday (our opener)......I'm gonna be checking out a couple of new spots, but i may just lay low the first weekend and see what turns up, helping my wife out instead.... TreeWalker
Re: Ol\' Hoss Today was our rifle opener, and my wife couldn't come with.....so I went out on my own......passed up an opportunity at this buck in hopes he'll be around for when she does get to come with....one of the toughest things I've ever done, LOL.... Man were a couple younger 4x4's rutting hard.....running nose to the ground and tongues hanging out.......a few more days, and hunting is gonna be golden.... So, I spotted a different buck for her yesterday morning....dandy 4x4 that was rutting pretty heavy on his does......lots of time left, so we'll see what happens....
