VTbowman
I took my 16" Encore .300 Win Mag pistol out to the bench to check it one last time before our firearms season opens this Saturday. I have to work Thur-Sat so Sunday will by my 1st chance out. I ran out of the Federal 165 Ballistic Tips last season so I had to get some Federal 165g Nosler Partitions which I dont really care for, but have used successfully in the past. 1st shot was super low and left. (Ut-Oh I think) I dial the scope up and right and then I am way high and right. Almost off the paper. next shot hitting the bull.... (???) Long story short and 20 rounds later I am ALL over the 8x11 piece of paper. Some completely off! Now out of bullets and no where near huntable accurate. Then I notice my forend and grip are loose. Not real loose but I could get wiggle out of both. (Ahhh!) I tighten them both and I sleep on it. Next day I run and pick up another box. 1st two shots are the 2 low shot near the bottom edge. Next is the higher one around the 3" high mark. Next 3 are near touching around 2" high. 4 shot grouping did not look bad for factory ammo and a handgun at 100 yards. The one in the lettering at the top is my neighbor wanting to try it out one time. LOL Only 1 time he dares shoot it, he says. LOL

Guest Clay008
Re: 3 days before the opener and I was NERVOUS! That is good that you figured out what the issue was. It is amazing how the grip being just a little loose can affect the group. Good Luck this season!
