I actually shot this buck on Nov. 2 i havent really had time to type out the story until now so here it is. He's a 10 pointer with a 15 1/2 in. inside spread, he field dressed at 190 lbs. The morning that i shot him was actually the third time in the last week that i had seen this buck. The first time that i saw him i had him had 10 yards and passed him up, the second time he never came close enough. He's a nice buck but we do have bigger on our land if u'r wondering why i would pass him up. Two weeks before i got him i had actually hit a buck alot bigger than this one but we never found him. I'm sitting on the top of a ridge where there is a huge CRP field in the middle of the woods, i'm hunting in the corner of it where 2 ridges intersect, this spot has always been the producer of nice buck for us every year. That morning i saw 2 smaller eight pointers and i had a little fork and a spike sparring out in front of me, around 7:30 am this 10 pointer came out on the other side of the field and was heading my way, i knew it was the same one that i had been seeing. The whole time he was coming towards me i wasnt really nervous cause i didnt think i was going to shoot him but then i kept thinking that maybe i should cause he is a pretty nice buck with a bow and being only 19 years old even nicer. He got to about 30 yards i drew back on him and grunted at him to stop, by this time i still hadnt made up my mind whether to shoot or not so he was jsut standing there starring at me and i didnt shoot, then he started walking away.....he took a few more steps and then he stopped, i still had my bow drawn back...i made a quick decision to shoot, he was at 32 yards, i let the arrow fly and i could tell it was a great shot. i didnt see him go down but i was pretty sure i heard him, i waited about 20 minutes and got down to look for my arrow, but i saw the deer laying there dead before i even had a chance to find it...he went no more than 40 yards....my arrow went right through his heart and stopped when it hit his back shoulder, first heart shot ever with my bow for me....i was very pleased with him, i knew that he was a mature deer which is what we're lookin for, at least a 3 1/2 year old and had a good size body on him!!

i was in a treestand, its actually a stand my dad and i built about 25 ft up in a elm tree....there was no good trees in this area so we found a tree that branched off 3 ways and made a stand...pretty sweet actually, most comfortable stand i have!
