VTbowman
Roof or not? 4 walls or less? Just want some opinions, thanks.
buckee
Re: Makers of natural material blinds, I got a ?????? No roof on my grass blinds. My blinds are a half circle blind 15' long. The fence-line and the weeds and brush in the fence-line itself act as my back wall. Just one continous 15' wall, set up in a half circle. wtnhunt
Re: Makers of natural material blinds, I got a ?????? Have made a few ground blinds on fence rows here over the years, none ever had any roofs. Usually three quarter round or three walls. VTbowman
Re: Makers of natural material blinds, I got a ?????? I have some spots perfect for ambushing deer crossing feilds and such. Mostly they will be in ditch rows or simular situations with little to no trees or brush for backgrounds. I have many cedar fence posts cut and my buddy has about 200' of wire fencing and some blackish grey material to make walls out of. That along with cedar and pine bows, etc. we should get some really good blinds. Just wondering about the roofs and all. These will be for bow hunting mostly, maybe ML too. How high are your walls? Shot over them or threw holes? We are planning holes... Thanks again.
buckee
Re: Makers of natural material blinds, I got a ?????? How high are your walls? - I use 4' fencing, which ends up being 5' after getting the grass in. Plenty of hieght to hide your bow when you bring it up to draw. If you were down in a dry ditch, and had the blind set up on the bank, you could get away with using 3'. Shot over them or through holes? - Through holes works better for bow, because it hides your movements better. note Make sure you make your shooting holes low enough to compensate for the arrow leaving the bow, lower than the sights. wtnhunt
Re: Makers of natural material blinds, I got a ?????? I used army tent canvas. You know the olive colored stuff. You can buy a side wall of a tent for about $50 at a army surplus store and it will do several blinds, I also used it for the ladder blind I have up and it has worked great over the years. I should take a pic of the ground blind I currently still have up. I hit it with the tractor while bushhogging, but kind of patched it back up. I shoot over this one I still have up. It is I guess about 36 inches high and I used stiff wire mesh fencing, it is on a fence row up a hill looking down over a river bottom. There is some junk I let grow up on the ground on the fence row and it never hurts to lay any brush you may have laying around in front of the blind to help break it up.
