ksdeerhunter03
Re: video taping Its a lot of fun, you need to be very aware, you have twice the scent, movement, noise, and you have to be knowledgeable of your camera and gear. If you arent getting audio, you need to know how to fix that, you need to be able to change battery, tape, etc on the fly, and still not miss anything. Communication with the hunter is vital, and you both must be on the animal when the shot happens, no impact isnt good for videos. Good luck and keep us posted! rifleman25
Re: video taping I have filmed 2 years worth of hunts for my show "Texas Borders and Beyond". Plan on being able to use about 25% at best of what you tape. Make sure you have a good fluid head tripod and know how to work your camera. I would use nothing less than a Cannon GL1 for a camera. Practice panning, zooming, changing Dvd's and battery's on the go and in a hurry but still keeping sound and motion to a minimum. A wireless microphone or two to go with your camera is also well worth the money. Be in shape because you never know where you will be going and what you will be hunting. If the dude your working with got 3 out of 11 that were useable that is not actually too bad. Some guys get paid good and others get absolutely nothing for filming so just go with it and get your foot in the door and see where this goes. I have had to leave on short notice several times as well so plan on getting a call one evening and having to go the next morning.

popgun
Re: video taping 98chevy: The very thought of any professional hunter that hunts for Primos or anyone else, who would fire his camera man because he only had 3 out of 11 usable videos;and then hire an amateur or (non-professional) to take his place, is to say the least, a strange idea. I wish you luck, and him too. (stay in school) ....popgun
Leo
Re: video taping The hunter also plays a major part in the video being good enough. If he shoots before the camera is on the game there is NO HOPE

BowJoe
Re: video taping Always keep a positive attitude and listen more than you talk. In fact, a good ratio is 99% listen and 1% talk. You'll learn a lot more that way.

You really have to be more accurate with what you write down for editing purposes alone, not to mention emailing your boss'. Where's Tominator at?
