JimT
Re: trucks... I drive a Ranger....Like it alot. Will probably always drive a Ford. Not a Dodge fan at all....
Strut_Buster
Re: trucks... I use my Ford Ranger XLT to hunt with. Perfect size for driving off road and hauling a boat and ATV. Good Ergonomics. No gray lego's that GM is famous for. Also I am yet to have a problem after 73,000 miles and I'm a wreckless teenage boy

lil hunter
Re: trucks... Even though I like chevy, the full size toyota's are NICE. I know a few people that have them and they are great. If you like 4 door, it has TONS of space in the backseat. The stock soundsystem is pretty good too. I don't really know about their off-road driving, but in comfort, i don't think anything can beat 'em. But, i still think you should go buy a new chevy, just cuz they're the best things out there. VTbowman
Re: trucks... Another vote for the Toyota's here. although I just have the Tacoma. Its a pretty nice ride if you do not need or like the full sized bad boys. I do not. Plus can not afford the gas to make them big boys roll as far as I need mine to go each week. (100 miles per day work commute) Gas mileage was a big concern for me if you could not tell. Mine pulls real good for its size and does a super job during firewood and deer seasons, and more importantly, VT winter driving. Hillbilly
Re: trucks... I have a green 1997 1500 4x4... Good truck, but I would rather get a Big PowerStroke Desil F250 4-Door
wtnhunt
Re: trucks... Get whatever you like. Personally I dont like ford trucks. Drive a chevy ext cab 3/4 ton 4 wd. When I get a new truck in the future it will be the same.
Guest bigbuckmiddaugh
Re: trucks... Get whatever you like! I've owned them all. LOL They all have good things, just have to pick the one which is highest on your list, like HP or gas mileage, etc.... They all break down or need something one time or another. i don't care what your driving. I have friends who have fords with tons of miles and nothing go wrong. I know people who have chevy's, dodge's, etc...with tons of miles nothing wrong. I also have friends or know people who have trucks and constently taking them in. It's kinda luck of the draw!! good luck
FSU_Seminole
Re: trucks... I have a 94 GM 1500 Z71 & wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Great truck haven't had any problems with it other than regular maintence costs.
need2hunt
Re: trucks... I've got a 99 Dodge Dakota, it's the first truck that I've ever owned and i really like it. It's got the big engine in it so mileage is like 15 in town, 18 on the road which kinda stinks but I deal with it.
RyanH
Re: trucks... Lovin my good ole Chevy 1500 z71! 6 inch pro comp lift with adj shocks, 35 inch mudd tires! Bring it!
MUDRUNNER
Re: trucks... I HAVE A 2000 DODGE RAM 4X4 WITH A 3 INCH SUSPENSION LIFT AND 33'S.THE 5.9 HAS PLENTY OF POWER AND IT TAKES A BEATING FROM TIME TO TIME AND IS HOLDING UP GREAT.I LIKE THE SOLID AXLE UP FRONT INSTEAD OF IFS.FEWER PARTS TO BREAK,BUT IT RIDES A LITTLE ROUGHER. HarvDog
Re: trucks... I really love my Explorer but I needed to add a cargo carrier to haul around dead animals. Have you considered one of these? This one looks suitable for off-roading.

billygoat
Re: trucks... Whatever fits into your budget. I currently own a 98 Ford Ranger 4x4 XLT, and it certainly does the job, gets good gas mileage, and is easy to maintain... My father has a 02 Dakota Club Cab that he truely enjoys and I have several friends who swear by their Chevy's... Whatever works for you and fits the gear you need to tote into the woods w/ you. Best of luck.
Guest zukebaby
Re: trucks... I gotta love my "beast", '88 Bronco! Alot of the normal fixes due to age, but at least I can get in there and do most of the work myself.
njbowhntr
Re: trucks... I drive a 2002 Ford Ranger Extra Cab. Being I am not married, nor do I have kids, so it fits me great. During the winter I get @ 17 mpg and the summer is @ 19 mpg, and that is with 265/75/R16 BFG All-terrains on it. It goes everywhere I need her to go and then some. snapper
Re: trucks... [ QUOTE ] You should be driving an american made truck not them Japanese toyotas. [/ QUOTE ] Nows theres a smart thing to say. Bought my wife a Pontiac Vibe (all wheel drive)...got a Toyota motor and the interior looks just like her old Toyota Camry. My father-in-law owns a Mazda truck...same darn thing as a Ford Ranger.
AaronS
Re: trucks... I've had them all (Toyota, Chevy, Dodge, and now a Ford). They all have their plusses and minusus and I liked them all. I really like the towing and hauling capacity of my F250 Powerstroke, but with fuel prices it would be nice to have something that got 50 mpg. EKYhunter
Re: trucks... 2003 Chevy Tahoe Z71. I love it. The ride is very smooth and it's very comfortable. I borrowed my friend's Hitch Haul and used it for two deer this year! Looks good cleaned up but looks GREAT muddy with an 18" 9 pointer on the Hitch Haul!
