johnf
Re: Deer Hunting Gun [ QUOTE ] Is the Winchester Model 70 Super shadow in 25wssm good for deer hunting? I liled the feel and weight of this gun. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, it would be a very good deer gun. You may want to check ammo prices. If your are spooked by them get the same gun in 25-06 they are ballistically pretty darned close and the 06 will shoot a lot cheaper. Guest retiredMN1
Re: Deer Hunting Gun I checked online for ammo prices, and they seem to be fairly reasonable. So I guess I found my rifle
johnf
Re: Deer Hunting Gun Congrats! I'm sure you'll be very happy with it. That's a great caliber and gun, just a little rich for my blood. Of course you're going to put some glass on top now. With that gun I would suggest a Nikon Monarch in a 3-9X40. Shaun_300
Re: Deer Hunting Gun That's a good choice! Let us know how the .25 WSSM performs, that's one of the calibers I am considering for my next rifle.

robk
Re: Deer Hunting Gun i am old school from the military and i think the 308 is the best round every made. my 2nd would be a 30-06 those two guns can kill anything in usa except the grizzly and for deer alone and smaller game. my favorite is the 243/ great little gun and i wouldn't be afraid to shoot a black bear with it rob k
