Extended Archery Buck (pic)

Well I scored on my extended Archery buck. I actually got him last week, but just got around to posting pics.

I had been watching some does about 50 yards off just browse around on the edge of a field, I was actually going to take one of them if they came in closer. But, they decided to head away from my tree down the field edge. So as I sat and watched them work down the edge I saw the 7 ptr come out from my left in the middle of the field, about 100 yards away. He came right across the field to the does, he wanted nothing to do with my grunt tube. When he got to the does he started chasing Limpy, one of the does, around the field. Then the vanished into the woods where the buck had come from. About 10 minutes later they came running back up into the field, same spot that they went in at. She headed right to the spot that they were at initially, with the buck close behind. When they got to the edge the stopped for a bit, and still just a touch out of range. Then they vanishied into the woods off to my right. At this point I was actually thinking my day was done, it was about 15 minutes till dark-dark. Well 5 minutes later she comes out of the woods at 40 yards with the buck following. Being it was getting dark I was going to let him walk. But when he hit the trail in the field he turned right towards me. He got to about 27-30 yards and turned broadside. I put the 30 pin on him and let it rip. He ran about 30 yards then stopped. He stood there for about 10 seconds, seemed more like 30 minutes. Then he started the diving run. I ended up hitting him with a perfect double lung.

He was a base 4x4, but had a broken brow tine. So he ended up being a 3x4 with a 16" inside spread. I did not get to weigh him, but I could not move him. My buck last year was 150lbs and I moved him by myself.
