deer huntin k-man
I just wrote a very long detailed story of my hunts on wendsday and thursday but it took so long to write that when I went to post it the page had expired and it wouldnt go through. So now I will just go with the short and sweet story. I had the best two days of hunting ever in my entire life. Saw 4 deer on wendsday the most ever in one day for me and 3 on thursday including my first buck sighting ever while hunting and this mature doe that I shot. This is my first shotgun deer and first in 3 years. Took my first deer ever with archery equipment. I shot her at 7:45 am at 17 yards. She went about 40 yards before she was done for good. I was useing a 12ga. mossberg shot gun with a fully rifled barrel and a winchester sabot slug toped with a simmons scope. At 17 yards this combination put a major hurting on her. This was the first deer I have ever gutted and I feel horrible about the job I did. I got it done but it took me 2 hours. I am not proud of the job I did. Just before gutting her I found that my entrance hole was farther back then I had thought. I guess that she steped forward some just as I shot. I gut shot her alittle and took out the liver. She dressed out at 100 pounds so we guess her live weight in the neighborhood of 120 pounds. I got her out and packed her with ice and waited for my dad to come get her that afternoon when he got out of work. Here are a few pics. My doe as she lay when I found her You can see the exit hole pretty good and also the blood trail I had to follow comeing in from the left side of the picture. This picture was taken with my phone.
