Went out Thursday evening about a mile from my house. It was 78 degrees so I really didnt think i was gonna see anything until right at dark. But I strapped my climber on my back and started walkin out to the woods at 1:30. I eased back in there and i was in the stand at 2:20. The little woods i was huntin in had a low spot holdin water. I eased out to the middle of the water and went up the tree. I had a standing bean field behind me , and a cut corn field in front of me. At 4:00 I looked out in the beanfield and seen a doe and two fawns about 200 yards out from me. A fourwheeler came ridin the edge of the beanfield by the highway and the deer came runnin in the woods right beside me. The two fawns passed about 5 yards to my right and then the big doe came in and i stood up and drew. She got out in front of me and i whistled at her, Stopped her dead in her tracks 22 yards from me. I let the arrow fly. Pass through both lungs she ran out to the corn field and i watched her fall. It was 4:10 when i shot her and at 4:20 i saw my buddy walkin down the levee across the corn field. I waited till it got to dark to shoot before i got down cuzz he was over there huntin. I could see his light on the levee so i whistled at him and we met at the road. I told him i shot a doe and we walked back into town and got the fourwheeler and came back to pick her up. She weighed 160 field dressed she was huge. After missin a nice buck this year and losin a doe due to a bad shot frown.gif I finally put one on the ground. Ive now killed three deer with a bow, all does. Now its time to take a buck out hopefully. Sorry no (pics) didnt have a camera and had to go ahead and skin her cuzz it was hot.
