Guest Clay008
It has come to my attention that I need to get a gun safe so, does anyone have any recommendations for a safe?

Strut10
Re: Gun Safes I have a Browning and a Stack-On. Both are sufficient. The Stack-On I got at Dick's for like $499 or so on sale. It's a pretty good deal.........fire-rated and weighs a tad over 500 lbs. Be sure to have twice as much help as you think you'll need come delivery day. [/ QUOTE ] Ha yeah I helped a buddy move down into his basement once. It was more like a controlled fall.
popgun
Re: Gun Safes About the only advice I could add, would be to decide how big a safe you think you will need. Then, get one twice that size. Guns have a habit of breeding like rabbits. ....popgun

Guest Xen
Re: Gun Safes using a rug or dolly can make a big difference as well - put the rug fabric side down (if moving across tile or wood floors) and it slides easily forgot to mention that i really like browning gun safes

MadHuntinPastor
Re: Gun Safes Hey Clay Don't know if you ever saw mine, but I got a pretty affordable one at WallyWorld. It is getting crowded as the others have said, but it supplied me with good protection for several years now. It is a Sentry and was all I could afford. I recommend getting the best and biggest one you can afford. Talk to you later bro.

TxAgJeepr
Re: Gun Safes As much as we move and as much as "Household 6" likes to "re-organize" the furniture... I'll stop there. It can be a pain to maneuver the dolly between the bed, dresser, etc. The only problem is you can't play them again, for some reason they don't fly straight... snapper
Re: Gun Safes I like my Liberty/Champion safe's...just do some research and go with what you like. If you go cheaper...at least make sure the hinges are on the inside. Next thing...buy the biggest safe you can fit through your door. I now have two safes...the second being large enough to put two of my other one inside it. BTW...two people can easily move a gun safe by rolling it on two maybe three pieces of pvc pipe! preacherman
Re: Gun Safes I bought a Liberty gun safe, the "Franklin Series" about 2 years ago and it has been the best purchase that I have ever made. I do agree with Popgun, buy the biggest one that you can afford because you will never have enough room.
Guest Clay008
Re: Gun Safes I have looked at the Liberty gun safes and they make a nice safe from what I can tell. I have been debating between a Dicks Sporting Goods Special and a Liberty Safe. The ones at Dicks are about $150 cheaper but, I think the Liberty Safes are better built. What makes one safe better than another safe besides the fire rating?
snapper
Re: Gun Safes I think personally it will be personal opinions. I guess it depends on what important to you...I'd say fire rating is tops...then how many "active" bolts it uses to secure door. Configuration for interior is a concern as well. Guest Clay008
Re: Gun Safes I went last night to Dicks and discovered that the safes they sell have the hinges on the outside. I think it would be better to have the hinges on the inside. Plus I think it will look better with the hinges hidden on the inside. Any thoughts?
