Looking to replace my Remington rifle stock.

I have an 30+ year old Remington Bolt action 30.06, BDL, long action, and the original stock is cracked and worn.

One of my dads guns that was given to me.

I would like to replace it with a wood laminant stock but have no idea where to look and what a good price would be if I had found a few to choose from.

I am thinking of going with the brown-ish coloring laminant since my .300 UM has the gray laminant stock.

Thanks for any advice...

Re: Looking to replace my Remington rifle stock.

You have a few options. You need a Rem 700 BDL long action stock. You can get an aftermarket one from Boyd. they come in brown or black, finished or unfinished. They do not have checkering. But, they do have different styles to choose from. They are decently priced.

You can get an unfinished one from Richard's Microfit. They also come in different colors and are uncheckered. They will require a bit more work by you but they can be a fun project. They also have some very nice fancy grades of solid wood stocks.

Numrich Gun Parts has some original 700 BDL stocks for sale.

Re: Looking to replace my Remington rifle stock.

Boyd has one of their seconds for $70.08. It is a finished JRS Classic stock for 700 BDL, long action, it is the nutmeg laminate (brown/brown), and is finished. It is not checkered though. They have one at this price. It is order number 500-025-1. This is a pic of one:
