Guest DeanHetzel
Hello everyone, i was wondering if any of you know of a tree stand (hang-on) that is easy to set up and really compact. It does not have to be comfortable or even have a seat, just needs to be small and fast to set up. Any ideas would help, thanks. huntrman
Re: REALLY Small treestand?? My brother has a Gorilla Baby Kong. It is pretty small, easy to set up, and actually comfortable. I liked hunting out of it so much I ordered the slightly bigger model, the Kong. One of the best hang-ons I've purchased. I wouldn't compromise safety for something that is to be put up fast. I know you want to get in there as quick as possible, but just remember how high you are going to be and it only takes one time for you to fall or the stand to give and you go tumbling with it. If that happens you may not be able to get back in there again. Use some ratchet straps around the stand along with the standard one that comes with the stand, it will make it much safer. Good luck! Guest DeanHetzel
Re: REALLY Small treestand?? Thanks everyone, you are right huntrman, anything that gorilla carries is a great treestand, heck i remember when you could buy the baby kong for like 35-45 dollars, and that is what i was thinking about getting. I also know Ameristep has one just slightly smaller. See, here in New Jersey i was brought up driving deer during the 6 day shotgun season and have had tTONS of times i have had nice bucks in front of me but could not see clearly enough to shoot at them. Even if i only got like 6-10 feet in the tree it would get me above the scrub oaks to be able to see a ton better and get those shots. I will most likely go with my gorilla but if anyone knows of a company that has one smaller let me know. I remember years ago when Lok-On sold one that was really small but they are not around anymore that i know of. Thanks DeanHetzel
wtnhunt
Re: REALLY Small treestand?? Welcome to the forums. Got the gorilla wolverine stand from wal mart and it is not at all comfortable, but you get what you pay for and it gives me another bow location to hunt. TKLambert
Re: REALLY Small treestand?? I second Johnf..... I use the base of my climber and it works great. I just about like it better than the whole climbin stand. Super quick and easy!!!!!
Guest ruffhunter
Re: REALLY Small treestand?? You are much better of getting one of the Gorilla's. An Ohio company is making and selling the Loc-on's now. I found them recently doing web search for them www.locontreestandsllc.com

Going to get a summit trophy seat hangon and use the old strongbuilt climber base.
