Well first my sad story though grin.gif Saw this buck that I photographed the other day.

I was standing in a horsweed patch in the middle of a cornfield the deer have been moving into it in the evening. Anyway with about 20 minutes left I look up and see this brute standing directly out in front of me at about 80 yards. I gave him a couple bleats and he looked over and then started feeding my way. He started veering off a little bit and I thought he might go around the horseweed patch so I gave him to short grunts. That did it!! He dropped his head and did the stiff leg trot coming right in to me. Then as he neared 30 yards the wind changed to an East wind and blew my stench right to him and he stopped on a dime and turned tail and was gone. I'm hoping to go to Johnson county to hunt Friday and hopefully be back up Saturday to try to get him in Whiteside.

ok enough of my petty drivel onto the more important issue. Sue shot her first archery buck tonight. A 2.5 year old 8 pointer. Not only did he go down within 40 yards of where she shot him but she had her youngest daughter Tyler sitting in a treestand beside her to share the moment with. I had problems with my flash on my camera so pics are to come. It is also the first deer she has taken off her dads property from the stand position that she chose. I'ld say that she's gettin there when it comes to hunting but the truth is she's really already there. Congrats Sue
