Re: well dumb question

[ QUOTE ]

ok well i want to know whats everyones opinion on useing a .410 for tury hunting and (slugs for) deer hunting

[/ QUOTE ]

A .410 can kill a turkey and a .22 can kill a deer. Like hunting with ANY weapon you must know your and your weapons limitations for a ethical kill and stay within those limits. I've hunted in Missouri with a .410 and a 28 gauge with hopes to take a turkey, I never got one withing my ethical killing range to take a shot.

To me it's about staying within your limitations - not the size of the caliber. wink.gif

Hunting boy,

Is this thread just for the sake of a debate?

I just don't understand why you would choose to use weapons that are against the recommendations from 99% of the hunting public. confused.gif

Just curious, how old are you?

Re: well dumb question

Just remember that even a 30/30 isn't much good for long shots over 100 yrds.

If I were you, I would sight it in at 1/2' to 1" high of the center of the bullseye, at 75 yrds. and keep your shot's 100 yrds or less, preferably 75 yds or less.

I shot nothing but a 30/30 for many years.

i am going to be useing a 22 hornet deer hunting in the morning and some people say this gun is to small why do you say this? because i have always taken down every deer i have shot with it on the first shot but people say it to small

[/ QUOTE ]

I wouldn`t risk it, the margin for error is too great. Go with a little higher caliber, so you don`t have to worry about wounding one...
