i have a sister who joined the marines right after she got out of high school which was in 1984.. shes been in ever since and know shes retiring.. she figures she put her 23 years in time to get out and enjoy not having to go to work..shes been all over been over seas a few times but she wasnt there very long due to shes got 3 kids once she was gone for a week another time she was gona for 3 months and thats about the longest shes been over seas...

Wow. That was a moving video. My son is finishing up basic at Great Lakes. In his latest letter he said he listens to TAPS (Butterfield Lullaby) and he only thought he knew why he did this, but now he is certain. Not sure exactly what he's trying to say, but I think I know.

The tune of TAPS was originally used to signal to soldiers in the Civil War that everything was safe to go to sleep. How fitting are the words as a final tribute to our soldiers and veterans!!!

Day is done.

Gone the sun

from the lakes,

from the hills,

from the sky.

All is well.

Safely rest.

God is nigh.

... hhmmm. God is nigh. Isn't it funny that they try to separate religion and government by removing the 10 commandments, remove prayer from the schools, try to take "in God we trust" off our currency, etc. but is continues to show up? can you imagine TAPS without the last 3 notes? FOOLS!!!

GOD BLESS AMERICA, and all those who love and protect her!
