I have a Rem. model 7400.I would like to know how old it is, where it was bought.Just curious of the history of this gun.Is there somewhere i can search the S#?

If you have the original barrel there should be a code on the left side by the receiver. It should be a 2 letter code. This will work with all of the Remington guns made since at least 1921.
