need2hunt
http://www.saukvalley.com/articles/2006/11/19/news/local/287622753298221.txt This is relatively close to me. It sounds really fishy to me, I guess if just the man or his dog had been shot it would still be sad but not sound as strange - but both shot? Newarcher
Re: Strange Hunting Accident Ugggggghhhhh.......when will people stop calling these accidents. This man--at BEST--committed an act of such gross negligence he killed a dog and a man. It isn't an accident in any way, shape, form or fashion! Shaun_300
Re: Strange Hunting Accident Very fishy! How the heck could the guy not see the man and the dog walking?! And how could he magically hit both with one shot??
Newarcher
Re: Strange Hunting Accident He actually fired TWO shots. Making it much less likely this was on the up and up and a tragic accident. New
stevebeilgard
Re: Strange Hunting Accident i doubt it's possible, but it could be true. in 1973, a colorado hunter shot a father and his son, who were each riding a honda 90 motorcycle, opening a gate, to hunt themselves. both father & son had on orange. the "hunter" thought they were elk, and killed them both. he actually got away with it. so, maybe funny things happen to some "hunters"
dartonman
Re: Strange Hunting Accident Buckshot is illegal in Illinois...so we will rule that one out, I wonder if the guy was carrying his dog into the restricted area, no safety orange, and the guy shot at "movement" which some individuals have done....just like when people are shot turkey hunting because they sound like turkeys............so sad either way........al
wtnhunt
Re: Strange Hunting Accident That is a strange story, and most certainly does not sound like an accident. Why dont these shooters involved in this type of thing practice safe firearms practices
need2hunt
Re: Strange Hunting Accident The latest I have hear is that the person that shot and killed both the man and his dog will have NO CHARGES filed against him. Evidently he shot and killed the man first and then the dog started to run away and he shot and killed it to. 2 shots, 2 kills BUT he thought they were deer - good grief. I'm pretty upset about this one as well as several other people I know around here. Personally I don't think that just because your "hunting" you should be able to get away with something as blatant as this.
