Canadian_Goose
How many fps am I looking at losing if I get my gun ported vs a muzzlebrake? I am shooting a .300 win mag at around 3200 fps right now. 150 - 165 gr bullet
AJ
Re: Porting vs Muzzle Brake If you add a brake you won't loose a thing other than recoil and maybe your hearing. The reasoning behind this is your bore length will remain the same. You will add 1.5" - 2" to the barrel. Going with porting, your recoil reduction will not be as dramatic as with a brake and you will loose some speed. The amount of velocity loss is dependant on the porting style you choose. Guest Xen
Re: Porting vs Muzzle Brake oh muzzle brake is the best - especially when you take your gun to the range and people that are shooting all stop to turn and look at you with the "wth was that look" on their faces
