MCH Posted November 22, 2006 Report Share Posted November 22, 2006 Did anyone read that Boston may have bid 50 million just to keep New York from getting Matsuzaka?? A condition of the bid was that Boston doesn't have to shell out the 50 million UNLESS he signs a contract with them. From what I'm hearing, Boras wants to get him at least a 10 million a year contract while Epstein and Boston are only going to offer 5. If Boras turns them down, Boston doesn't have to pay a dime, and Matsusaka returns to Japan for 2 years. Pretty smart move if that was their intentions.
