BM06
I am going to purchase a new rifle for deer and have narrowed it down to 2 choices: Remington 700 CDL LH .30-06 and Browning A-Bolt Medallion LH .30-06. Any thoughts/suggestions on which one you guys would go with would be greatly appreciated.

strubedog
Re: which rifle??? I would go with remington also. In the event you ever want to upgrade triggers, stocks etc... everything is made for remingtons.
Guest Colorado Bob
Re: which rifle??? I don't like the Remington safety. I've got a model 700 & the safety always seems to hang up on my belt & half the time it trips to the fire position. I'm always having to check it. Take a look at a Tikka. I really like mine. I'm a south paw also------both of my rifles are LH. CB

wtnhunt
Re: which rifle??? Welcome to the forums. I like both the browning a bolt and the 700. Both are good rifles.
Shaun_300
Re: which rifle??? Buy both! j/k I love Remington and Browning, I've never shot an A-bolt, but I do have two 700 BDL's. One in .300 Mag and one in .22-250 Rem (varmint). Both of my 700s are sweet shooting guns. I say either choice would be a good choice out of the A-bolt or 700. Strut10
Re: which rifle??? Welcome to the forums!!! I like the tang safety on the Browning. The 60 degree bolt throw is handy, too.

M00N
Re: which rifle??? If it was me choosing between the two I'd go with the Remington. I like the quality of their guns and never had a bad gun from them. We have a Model 700 and Model Seven plus a couple more guns, that I don't know the models off of the top my head, from Remington. I never ran into the safety issues like talked about above with any of my Remingtons. All the guns in this house are Remington just about and a few Brownings and odd name guns which never get used anymore now that we got Remingtons. The choice is up to you though. Go to a gun dealer hold both guns. See which one fits your body shape best, is the right weight for you to be carrying around, and that you can be comfortable with. [/ QUOTE ] I'm with WT both are good rifles. I have 3 Remingtons & I also have a Browning 7mm A bolt. You can't go wrong with either IMO.
