AJ
Re: .17 HMR or .223 I too would stick with the .223. It is a much better long range varmint gun and it costs about the same to shoot as the 17 HMR.
Norm Sauceman
Re: .17 HMR or .223 I am going to get a .223 because of the chaeper price of ammo.
robk
Re: .17 HMR or .223 i enjoy my 17hmr very much and it is one nice shooting little rifle. the ammo is not that expensive and you can take out many different varmits including coyotes with it. the only draw back i would say is you only get two bullets to use one being the 17 and the other the 20 grain bullets and you will get more choices with the 223. the end of the trail is you have two great little rifles now it;s up to you to figure out which one you really want and knowing what i know now i would still be shooting my 17hmr from savage as it is a great teaching tool as well with no recoil it makes it easier to teach someone how too shoot as well rob k

BigBuckVideo
Re: .17 HMR or .223 Keep the 223 if you want a 17 then just save you money but the 223 will do everything the 17 will and then some.
