mathews4life
Has anyone heard about are seent his muzzleloader yet? This thing is unreal and defeats the purpose of muzzleloading not to mention the price tag on it is just as unbelievable as the specs! http://www.mainehuntingtoday.com/magazine/Reviews/bad_bull.html
AJ
Re: Check out this muzzleloader [ QUOTE ] ...defeats the purpose of muzzleloading [/ QUOTE ] So...what is the purpose of muzzleloading? It loads from the muzzle, and has a seperate ignition source. What's the big deal? Is it the speed? That's kind of hypocritical coming from a person with Mathews4life as a name. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of bow hunting? Its faster than a long bow or recurve.

TreeWalker
Re: Check out this muzzleloader It's a good thing somebody didn't shoot down the gas engine......probably thought back then that it would defeat the purpose of the horse and buggy !! It's called progress....we should embrace it, not condemn it.....nobody is stopping you from shooting an ol' smoke pole, just like nobody is stopping me from owning a horse and buggy.....I would just rather drive my truck...... Adjam5
Re: Check out this muzzleloader That IS progress. Welcome it. It is still basically a smokepole. A MAGNUN one at that! Price is the only thing that will hold people back. What I believe one would pay for is ALL the Research and Development that they put into making this beast. They have to get it back somehow. Besides do you think the materials in that gun warrant that price tag? You pay for all R&D and some profit too.
Guest shotist
Re: Check out this muzzleloader "5600 ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle" Somebody else can shoot this thing, LOL. My God that thing has to get your attention when you turn it loose.

[/ QUOTE ] i stated my opinion and thats all it is....guess if i had 20000 post my opinion would be just that and would get no grief for it. i am one of many who shoot the in line style muzzleloaders and i could give a flip who shoots what i just made the statement in that if i'm goin to be muzzleloading w/ somethin like that then i should just go ahead and bring a rifle........but anyway just another example of someone taking an honest mans opinion and criticizing them and their "opinion"
hoyt19
Re: Check out this muzzleloader Great point, the guys I gun hunt with shoot smoothbore shotguns with rifled chokes, and shoot good to 75 yards as per thier ability. Looking at my Encore I double that distance. My reason for using the muzzeloader is just having one shot. For this reason is also bow hunt. I have one chance, one shot. [ QUOTE ] So...what is the purpose of muzzleloading? It loads from the muzzle, and has a seperate ignition source. What's the big deal? Is it the speed? That's kind of hypocritical coming from a person with Mathews4life as a name. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of bow hunting? Its faster than a long bow or recurve. [/ QUOTE ] Sounded like a fair question to me.And a fair comparison, the compound bow wasnt exactly loved by traditional hunters when it first came about, much less a single cam shooting at speeds in excess of 300 fps. Just like compound bow shooters go out of there way to outlaw crossbows, sidelock hunters look down on inline shooters, bowhunters look down on gun hunters, gun hunters complain about bowhunters and so on and so forth.Maybe someday everyone will understand my way is the only real way to hunt Question for you, if increased accuracy, increased velocity, a better ignition system, better sighting system, and more reliable powder substitutes all make for quicker, cleaner kills on the animals we persue dont we at least owe them that much? HoosierDaddy28
Re: Check out this muzzleloader Keep in mind that a lot of eastern states do not have hi po rifles in season for a reason. This muzzleloader while very awesome, has almost the same ballistics as my .25-06. It wouldn't surprise me to see some states ban it.
