Bonus county doe....

Took this doe this morning at 7:15. She was standing facing me slightly quartering at about 100yds. The bullet went in in her front right chest and exited through the left shoulder taking one lung with it. She made it 250yds after the hit while leaving a great blood trail. She dressed out just over 150lbs...

When she entered the field at about 175yds from my position she picked me right out of the hedge row I was nestled in. I must have been glowing as the sun was rather bright and right on me. I figured she would turn and run but she had a buck in hot pursuit coming up fast behind her. She eased into the field keeping a sharp eye on my position. When she paused at about 100yds to glance back at the buck I got my gun into position and took the safety off.... Without conscious effort the gun bucked and she did too. The buck just stood there not having a clue what had just happened. If I wouldn't of already had my buck he would of been easy pickins.

She took off heading straight away from my position. I lost sight for a couple seconds then saw her slow down and pile up about 250yds from where she was hit.

This is my first kill with this XP100R chambered in 260 Remington topped with a Burris 2-7X shooting factory Federal ammo with 140gr Sierra Gamekings. My buddy was sitting in one of my tree stands watching the whole thing unfold from about 150yds away.

What a blast.....
