Guest outdoor_adventurer
i am wondering if shooting albino deer are legal in indiana. i have searched the internet for regulations against shooting them in indiana and haven't found anything. i was just wondering if someone could help me with this question. the reason for asking is last time i was hunting one of my propertys i saw two albino bucks that were extremely big and i now want to shoot one if it gets close enough. i have permission to hunt bow only there. b/c the owner also hunts just bow. he doesn't know if there is a law against them so i'm assuming it is perfectly legal to harvest one. i looked in the hunting manual for this season and nothign is in there bout it. just wondering if anyone could help? M00N
Re: are they legal? I believe they are legal in Indiana, but I'd call a game warden and get a confirmation before pulling the trigger on one. Some states consider albino and even piebald deer a protected species and they are not allowed to be hunted. I wouldn't risk getting a fine or even loss of license shooting it until you have confirmation from a game officer that they are legal to hunt or can find it written in text in your hunting handbook that they are legal to hunt. Albino is All white with a pink nose....A Piebald will have a black nose and probably not be 100% white. Piebald: Albino:
