TKLambert
Why isnt hunting like every other sport, you get out of it what you put into it. (meaning time wise) I have spent countless hours in the stand this year and havent killed one yet. Ive seen some but no shooters. Neways, my buddy works all the time (which I need to be doing instead of hunting so much, but I want a buck so bad), and has only been hunting twice this year, and has killed a buck both times. A 7pt. and 8pt. Both great deer. I know its hunting and not killing and I LOVE my time in the woods to get away, but I just wish I could get some his luck my way, haha. My hopes are falling as the rut is slowing down......
Shaun_300
Re: WHY?? That's just the way it is sometimes, it's the way hunting goes. Good luck! Hope you get one before the season's out.

arrow32
Re: WHY?? Way it is. Ive put in tons of time this year and only got one out of it so far. Ive not killed an deer two years and put a ton of time into it. Thats what makes it fun.
wtnhunt
Re: WHY?? My wife is feeling the same way about now. She hears all the shooting around us, and wonders what she is or is not doing right, I try to explain to her to just relax and enjoy the time, that it is not what she is or is not doing, the deer are just not cooperating. She has put in some really long days this week and seen just a small number of deer, only one little buck, not like she should be seeing them. horst
Re: WHY?? One time I went three years without tagging a deer.Wasnt for lack of oppurtunities, just waiting for the right one.I hunted 4 hours a day every day of the 3 1/2 month season with few exceptions.Somedays I hunted sunrise to sunset including most weekends. I watched hundreds of deer in those years without lifting my bow up, watched where they bedded, what they ate, where they traveled, how they acted during different times of the season, weather, all that.I learned what they did and where they went when pressured, how the other hunting seasons affected thier movement, and a lot about patience. It wasnt time wasted, I learned ore about deer habits by just watching them quietly then I ever would have by shooting one early and being done.It was time well spent
