Re: powder ?

I was told you couldn't use the same powder for the two rounds. It was supposed to be something about you needed a slower burning powder or the long barrel of the 25-06. Is that not right?

I want good accuracy and performance out to 200 yards. I can bench shoot pretty well out t0 300 with factory loads, but I'm thinking more realisticaly for hunting situations.

John, N160 for the 243 with 100gr bullets and the same for your 25/06 with 115-120gr bullets will work. You could step up to N165 for both to get slightly more zip at slightly lower pressures. The slightly faster powders will give better uniformity as a rule and technically, may be better for use in that shorter pipe of the 243.
