Lever revolution ammo...WOW!

A close friend of mine was given a old Marlin by his Dad. It was a 336 in .35 Rem, sporting a 16 and 1/4"bbl from the factory. The Marauder is the name it went by. Was made only 2 years by Marlin 1963 and 64. My friend is getting up there in years( bad eyes) so he scoped the old rifle. He went for a TruGlo red dot sight with 2X mag. Laser boresighted it...loaded a round of the lever revolution ammo...1st shot in the black at 100 yards! Just 2 clicks down and 4 clicks over and it was dead on at 100 yards! I could not believe how well this old gun shot this new ammo. He needed only 4 rounds to be perfect, but he shot the whole box anyway. The idea of the soft nose bullet is a good one, the box says it turns the .35 rem into a 300 yard gun...OK, but a 17" drop at 300yards. I doubt he'll get that kind of velocity from such a short barreled rifle. But its good to know that the ballistics have increased incredibly with the new Lever Revolution loads.

I have a Marlin 30/30 that I shoot Speer 150gr Nitrex loads out of, and the gun loves them. What that .35 rem showed me made want to atleast try the new loads. They are pricey compared to corelokt and other brands.

Anyone else have Lever Revolution experiences?

Re: Lever revolution ammo...WOW!

I shoot the .30-30 Revolution ammo. I have been nothing but impressed with the performance. Now I did not get a deer with it this year, but the range results were great. I have it sighted in 2" high at 100 yards, hits 1" low at 200". Out of a rest I can put 5 shots in a 3" orange dot.

I would recommend to anyone.
