Guest Clay008
So I am watching the show Hostage tonight and had a thought. Why not develop a round that Law Enforcement can use to shoot through the wall and kill the bad guy? I would imagine with the technology today they would be able to use heat sensing equipment to see through the wall and pick out the bad guy. I guess the bullet might deflect on its way through the wall but I would think if they shot through a window that would not affect the trajectory of the round. What do you guys think? Guest Xen
Re: Hostage situations... i think it would over-penetrate and kill a hostage - tough to shoot through a wall and know what you're actually aiming at also, i think they have large rounds there were designed for going through doors and walls, they just refer to them as an entry round. i think there was something called a .50 beowolf? made mostly for an ar-15 upper that could be changed out and used for entry - not the most accurate shooting, heavy rounds with a lot of drop
Guest Clay008
Re: Hostage situations... Yeah, I was thinking more about this last night and figured if the bullet was hard enough to go through a wall it might clear the house by chance and that wouldn't be good. Canadian_Goose
Re: Hostage situations... Glass can deflect bullets as well. I saw a video of a SWAT sniper missing a shot on a hostage taker through glass, hit him in the shoulder instead of the head i think.
