ousoonerfan22
Re: Texas Heart Shot? I shot a buck early one morning and he ran to the fence and was going to cross on to the neighbors property.I thought I had missed or wounded him and that was the only shot I had.The 30-06 shoved him under the fence but he didn't run off,the first shot had hit him through the chest. The second shot hit him about an 1" to the right of his you know what and didn't ruin that much meat. Tom2008
Re: Texas Heart Shot? It'll probably take the deer down, but it sure ruins a lot of meat. You probably won't be getting any roasts out of a shot like that. A guy shot one like that when I was in Montana and we lost a lot of good meat. I personally would never ever take a shot on a deer like that.

jcs3344
Re: Texas Heart Shot? never done it, heard it works pretty good, the only time i think it would be needed if it was that buck of a life time fixing to walk out of your sight. Stinger-Hunter
Re: Texas Heart Shot? I would never take this shot, regardless of the deer or circumstances (unless I was starving to death).
