I am so mad right now I can just spit nails!!! mad.gifmad.gif

A recent count ruling has declared that I DISH Network customers cannot receive distant networks such as FOX, CBS, ABC & NBC anymore.

I chose to live in the country where my kids can breath fresh air. There is no cable TV where I live. I get some local networks but my 2-way radio has a better signal than my local FOX network. So for years I have paid to receive FOX network. Well under this new ruling they are pulling my plug on FOX. No more pro baseball or football. No more Simpsons or any other FOX programming.

My only recourse is to log onto www.savemychannels.com and contact my government representatives. I plan to contact them tonight. You other Dish Network subscribers should probably do the same.

Thanks for letting me vent mad.gif

Man,that stinks!Does this effect Direct t.v. too?

I don't think so,,, Direct TV had this issue years ago and came to some kind of agreement with the Out Of Market Channels.... crazy.gifcrazy.gif

Here's whats posted on the Dish Network Website..

DISTANT NETWORK PROGRAMMING UPDATE

A district court judge issued an injunction requiring DISH Network to shut off so-called “distant network” channels no later than December 1, 2006. Only about seven percent of DISH Network’s 12.46 million subscribers receive Distant Network Programming (which includes ABC, NBC, CBS or FOX broadcast that originate from outside your local community).

This decision has NO impact on the vast majority of DISH Network subscribers:

Local network channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX) from most local communities are NOT impacted and will be available without interruption.

Non-network channels (ESPN, USA, Discovery, Showtime) are NOT impacted and will be available without interruption.

If you are a Distant Network subscriber, DISH Network continues to do everything we can to preserve distant network channels for as many DISH Network customers as possible. If you want to help our efforts and preserve your distant network channels – or learn more about what is happening about this issue – click here

Re: Good Bye FOX Network! You Low Lifes!!!!

OK just got off the phone with Dish Network.... PHEW,, man I thought I was going to have to go ballistic once again.... grin.gifgrin.gif

Here's how this thing goe's..... Dish Network airs FOX EAST as well as FOX WEST, and a couple others but I'll stick with these 2 to keep it simple... wink.gif

With me living on the east coast I'll still be able to receive FOX EAST,, because it's aired in my local market,,,, but I will LOSE FOX WEST because it's outside my local market.... wink.gif

Local network channels (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX) from most local communities are NOT impacted and will be available without interruption.

So this means I won't lose any of my channels (except for those that are aired outside my local market) like all of those that are tranmitted from the west coast.... wink.gif

More time to spend with the wife and kids. Gotta hate that!!!

I live in an urban, well almost an urban setting, LOL and we still don't have cable or dish. It's not that bad.

It's all the networks and that means Nascar will not reach many people either. ARRRRRRRRRRRR!

This makes me think. Did anyone else hear that ESPN will be covering Nascar next year? I think I saw a commercial the other day saying they were covering Nascar.

Oooh boy back to that again! I used to work with satellite installations and service for a good little while and had some experience with this issue even back then. This has happened in so many places so many times with Dish. Do yourself a favor and get direct and ditch Dish.
