Re: i had to go to court today!!

That burns me up....especially with old people.

I used to mow grass on my off days for some wonderful old people. I didn't have the heart to charge them more than gas money for the mower to do it (one lady $10). One lady, her kids didn't ever come around and she would invite me in.....no, she would make me come in....and sit down (didn't matter that I was sweaty and dirty). She would tell me all kinds of stories, talk about history (she was probably 80) and always had lemonade made fresh on lawn mowing day. The one time her daughter did come around she pointed her crooked little finger at me and threatened that if "anything ever came up missing from the house I was in trouble". I told her that I had no interest in taking anything from her mother and that by the looks of the daughter, she needed it all. The mother was mortified and apologized but after the daughter left, I ended up apologizing for losing my temper.

Went over one day to mow and she had had a stroke a couple days before and died. The daughter was going to rent the home and asked me if I would continue to mow it for the $10 price tag. I told her that I mowed that grass for her mom at a loss because her mom was such a kind hearted person and that I wouldn't mow grass for the daughter if I was starving.

I swear some people just kill me.

Good for you for helping these folks!

Re: i had to go to court today!!

There are good people and there are bad people! They are out there all the time!

When I was in construction, I don't know how many times I went in and fixed some crap done by other people!

I wouldn't and couldn't do crap like that to anyone!

That's not cool..Gets me mad to Because i've fixed some crap like that before to...sad part is that money does crazy things to people. There is a very few contractors(scabs)that make everyone seem like money hungry fly by night losers. If you don't want to do it right the first time don't do it at all mad.gif

I hope you get paid for your expert testimony too. Only about one in a hundred make it as far as yours. Thanks for taking a stand. Now that you have stood for what is right you will have a good reputation for it.

Re: i had to go to court today!!

Good advice there. Recently put a metal roof on our house. The contractors used a ridge that was not wide enough, and after asking Chris(horst) in here some advice I called the contractors back and asked that it be fixed. Fortunately with no problems whatsoever they came back out with wider ridge and fixed it at their expense. Too bad not all contractors work like that.
