Guest First_Light_Law_Firm
We are made "...a little less than the heavenly beings." Psalm 8:5. How simple is it for God to hide you from the "works of His hands?" We all lose track of how rule over animals but God doesn't. At first light on opening morning of Georgia's 2000 gun season I found myself lost, sweaty, noisy, and most of all MAD. After hearing the neighboring farm's tractor directing me toward the creek, I hurried to settle into the "ruined" hunt. I was responsible for memorizing the scripture for my Sunday school class and decided it would help me calm down to recall what I had learned. Psalm 1 was excellent at preparing my mind and body to become, "like a tree planted by a flowing river of water." I went onto Psalms, 8, 19, 22, 23 and then 42. When my mind and heart entered into the language "As a deer pantath for streams of water, so my soul pantath for You, oh God," a twig snapped to my left and only five yards away was the image in my mind. Panting for the water of the stream beneath my feet was a magnificent buck. God showed me how the Word becomes flesh. Please comment

Second...Comment about what? I usually am able to understand a post with one reading, but must admit I have read your first post four times and still don't get it. Anyone can quote scripture, but it is best to state the reason. Your post is so confusing and vague that it could have been written by a politician, a lawyer, or a PETA representative? This happened in the 2000 Georgia Deer season, and you are sharing this with us now? Were you lost spiritually or literally? The tractor showed you the way to the creek? Exactly how did God show you how the Word becomes flesh? Are you praying for the deer to come in for a closer shot? Just color me confused... ....popgun
Guest First_Light_Law_Firm
Re: Silently calling bucks These are really good questions so let me try to answer one by one. 1. Happened in 2000, just sharing because I don't write much for fun. 2. I was lost literally but your question shows a dimension I didn't see. There are some possibilities in that angle. 3. Since everyone at our house was still in bed, I knew to go toward the noise so as to walk away from the house and to the creek. I still haven't figured out why a tractor was running at 6:00am 4. God showed me the Word becoming flesh in that the image the scripture "As the deer panteth for water" gives you and I both could be seen with my eyes, not only in my imagination. Please forgive the headache, I guess that was too deep. I liked your comments though.
buckee
Re: Silently calling bucks I've been in situations like this also, where you are just meditating on Gods word or a scripture, and it is confirmed in the natural. Not so much the actual meaning of the scripture as it pertains to us, but just a good visual I can understand your post. Popgun just doesn't like lawyers...(jk)LOL Welcome to the forums. Guest First_Light_Law_Firm
Re: Silently calling bucks That is a good summary of what happens. Glad to know others are blessed in the same way. I hope most receive that type confirmation.

No experience with them whatever. Most career politicians are lawyers or have a degree in law, and I have very little use for politicians. I really don't like the TV advertisements for attorneys, and think it drives up the cost of our insurance etc. ....popgun

Guest First_Light_Law_Firm
Re: Silently calling bucks Buckee did a brilliant job summarizing the point. Probably better than I can since I, like most counselors tend to be wordy. My gratitude for the response. Does it make more sense if I say that God has already put in motion everything that is necessary for us to silence the frustrations we face as hunters? A text book would tell you I made every mistake preventing me from harvesting a quality animal that morning. The only thing I did correct was to turn to the text with a purpose greater than just killing animals, the Bible. I would not have turned to it that morning if I hadn't already reached my limits of failure for the day. It doesn't take quoting scripture, going to church, or reading the Bible to honor God, to be "a little less than the heavenly beings", or to rule over his creation. Psalm 8. Jesus knows I have spent most fall Sundays in the woods. What was done that day was infinitely small to God but to me, being shown the image I had when thinking about Psalm 42 had real antler is considerable. It confirmed to me that God speaks in ways we can all hear and he knows the makeup, movement, and meditations of every man. Most importantly He loves us enough to bring a good buck to even an inexperienced woodsman.

It is the LARGER THAN LIFE image created by the ads that bothers me. The lawyers are usually trying to generate a lot of cases or lay the foundation for some popularity contest. In North Florida every bilboard has a "trial" lawyer's face on it. Florida lawyers know that insurance is the biggest target. What should be done about it? BTW Popgun you would probably like our US Rep in the House. Jeff Miller is a decent man and an outdoorsman.
markyj987
Re: Silently calling bucks First Light...welcome to the forums. I deal with lawyers quite a bit in my work and they're generally a good lot. Of course, my favorite one is an ERISA attorney. I'm not a fan of the "John Edwardsesque" trial lawyers though. May I ask what kind of lawyer you are?
stevebeilgard
Re: Silently calling bucks welcome first light. hope to hear lots more from you. sounds like you are still in law schol, so good luck. lawyers are fine. some, anyway. like the rest of the world... anyway, god may have been sending you a special message, and it may have been just luck, or sitting still. but, any way you see it, god was indeed involved in bringing that deer to you. It is hard to see where He is at work but nothing on earth can take the place of joining in with what he is doing. I think I will write more. johnf
Re: Silently calling bucks Welcome to the Forums First light. We've got a saying around here that sums up your story. It's a God thing BTW. When did you go to U of A, I've got some friends and a couple students that went to law school there. I graduated from there in 93 with a BSE.
