this season was the ones for big bucks in my area, 4 days of huntign I passed up at least 10 140-150 class bucks,I wanted a monster, tuesday night in a blizzard I had a buck cross a trail I was on, he sure looked good but I was not sure how big, I did not want to make a mistake so i just glassed him, when he turned I seen a width like I have never seen before!I knew then I made a mistake by not shooting,I could see he was prob a 5 by 5 butIdid see a little tine so i figured maybe a 5 by 6 and he looked tall, I was thinking possable boonie! we had a doc appointment yesterday so i could not get out but I was there this am looking around, first draw I came upon I just sat and glassedfor prob 1/2 hour, sen 4 different bucks including a narrow 145 class buck really tall! [13 inches wide only prob] then I seen the width crest a hill 1/2 mile awayand into the same area I seen him tuesday, I drove around and crept over the hill and nothing, then I seen a antler right beside a clump of brush, I got ready and he was up running,he looked huge, wall of tines lots of height and width, I am surprized I never dropped dead lol, I held waiting for a shot and last instance he went to turn a corner and I let the 7mm rip, all I heard was a thump and just about as quick as the bullet I was gone the 300 yards to the finger he went up, there he was!!I seen a ton of tines but not much height then I picked him up and seen he only had 4 pts on the other antler and super tall! plus he was not as wide as I thought,I figured 26-28 inches he is "only 24 1/2" cool.gifhe has such a small body it made him look bigger, he has 12 inch tines on the 4 pt side, his other side looks way smaller but the g 2 and 3 are still pushing 10,mass is good with only 2 measurements under 5" plus 24" beams, he grosses just over 165"non typ with the 3 exra points,he is deffinatly not the deer I thought but the way he ran on tuesday made himlook taller and all the tines from the one side carried over to the 4 pt side, don't get me wrong he is a huge deer for this area and I am super proud!! here are a few pics, sorry about field pics my camera batteries went dead in the cold and I managed to get a few with the film camera, reast are from home and after he was skinned out!
