I had a problem with my summit viber sticking together and e-mailed summit about the problem. They very quickly responded to my mail and informed me that they were sending me a new one. I ot it today and pulled it out of the box to put it together.

THE DARNED THING CAME IN THE BOX STUCK TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Has anyone else had this problem. I've been working on the stupid thing for an hour and am about to send it back. mad.gif

Here's what it looks like. I've tried pusing up, down, side to side, being gentle and pulling hard nothing seems to work. Here's what it looks like.

Re: Yeah Summit!!!!!!!! BOOOOO Summit?

I think if while packing it in and out if I'll put the back rest of the seat between those two parts it woun't be able to stick together.

On the first post I didn't realize what time it was. I started working on it about 8:45. It was like some sort of chineese torture test. I knew it had to come apart, it just wouldn't. I've got it all together now with all the padding and everthing. I do have the backrest between the two parts and they can't lock together like that. smirk.gif

Re: Yeah Summit!!!!!!!! BOOOOO Summit?

My son Joe picked up a Viper also a few months ago at Gander Mtn. His was also stuck together. We didn't think anything of it unpacking it, a few wiggles and it came apart. Most likely it was thrown around at the store or in shipping. It is made of aluminum, so that metal has some give and is soft. I can see the force of it being tossed in the store and 2 parts(tree teeth) jamming and becomming wedged.

I can see how it would be frustrating at 5am trying to get the stand apart.

Hope you resolve the problem.

John, you have to be smarter than the stand! Just kidding.

I had the same problem once in the woods. I struggled for 5 minutes and then thought to myself " If i have to walk back to camp with this thing my buddies are going to laugh their butts off at me".

Finally, i bumped it against a tree and it came apart.

Thank god. Just remember, when all else fails, use force. smile.gif Good Luck.

Re: Yeah Summit!!!!!!!! BOOOOO Summit?

I have the Broadhead climber. I have had it for about 3 seasons now. From time to time it still gets stuck but only if I jam them together too hard. It has not taken me more than a few secongs to get them apart, mostly for trying to be quiet. But it does happen.

But I put up with it because of how comfortable it is when I am in the tree.

Yep, had the same issue John. Just had to muscle it apart. Once you get it apart that first time it doesn't do it anymore, but it is a bit frustrating!

Yep just muscle it. My still sticks every now and then, but it has gotten much better.
