alright so my parents told me that i can't drive anywhere at all tonite b/c of the snow we got today

its ridiculous, the roads are perfectly fine, and all my friends are out driving

the roads were a little slick this morning(school was cancelled)

they won't even let someone come pick me up

i dont understand

there is nothing wrong with the roads

Re: no driving

They care about you and are just playing it safe. Plus those wet roads will freeze over again after dark and be just as slick as before. You'll live if ya dont get to go out tonight....it's just one or two nights bud wink.gif My worst wreck was when I got hit head on by a guy who lost control on black ice and hit me......

Re: no driving

I used to get ticked off about that too. But I'm glad they made me stay home now. If they're like my parents, they'll let you drive more and more in the bad weather once you get a bit more experience. Now it's the opposite, if I'm going somewhere with mom in bad weather, she makes me drive. grin.gif

I wish I could post the pics of the BIG RIG we have sitting in our lot right now, after getting in an accident last week, because someone thought that very same thing. The truck is a loss, but worse yet, one of my co-workers is in the hospital with broken ribs and vertabrae, and VERY lucky to be alive, as the truck was opened on the pass side from back to front, his seat FELL out, with him strapped in. Like everyone else has said, your parents are looking out for YOU and your safety, be grateful, there are people out there that could care less about your safety

Re: no driving

they are just lookin out for you man ... and know exactly what youre thinking when it comes to the experience thing. "how am i gonna get experience if they dont let me drive anywhere in the conditions???" it wil come, once you get to be a better driver, they will let you try the conditions .. they just care about you, and want you to take it one step at a time when it comes to handling a 3,000 lb chunk of steel on slick roads

Re: no driving

Hey, I'm 53 years old and a very safe driver. I've never been in an accident.

When it snows here, I park it, unless it is absolutely necessary to go somewhere, and I do mean absolutely necessary.

Your parents love you and know from experience, what driving on snowy and icy roads are like and how many people die each year because of them. You may very well be the safest driver in town, but that matters very little when some jerk comes sliding into you going 90 frown.gif

Park it...you're not missing a thing wink.gif
