deer_slayer08
I was just wondering what is better a .270 or the .270 WSM and what is the differnce between them. I have a 25-06 but I want a other gun. I like the .270 and I don't know if I should get a .270 or the .270 WSM.
Randy
Re: .270 or .270 WSM I'd go with the WSM. The WSM is balistically almost identical to the 7 mag. It actually will out perform the 7 mag. with a 150gr. Winchester supreme bullet by a little bit. It shoots just a bit flatter and has just a bit more downrange energy than the 7 Mag. The only thing I've heard bad is that some people are having a hard time getting a good consistant pattern with them. I wish you could buy factory loads of 140gr. bullets just to see if that would help with the consistancy. Good Luck, let me know what you decide. OJR
Re: .270 or .270 WSM A friend of mine has a Kimber 270 WSM and I have a regular 270. I get better grouping than he does with my handloads. The ammo for the WSM is awful expensive. I'll just stay with the good old regular 270! Guest HaDeRonDa
Re: .270 or .270 WSM The .270 will always there. The WSM is going to be hard to find ammo for someday. The country is not going to be stable forever like it has in the last 40 years. Three rounds that will live until we have no government. .308, 06 and .270 Just call me plain jane. If you like the shorter action the WSM is it though.
deer_slayer08
Re: .270 or .270 WSM Ive shot both a .270 and WSM I like the WSM but it has a recoil a little more than the .270. I think it does have a bigger recoil right or am I wrong.
Canadian_Goose
Re: .270 or .270 WSM Unless your planning on shooting 500 yds... i believe the .270 will suffice. Correct me if I'm wrong.
too_pointer
Re: .270 or .270 WSM I say get a .270. I have shot one for years and unless you are thinking about much larger game than deer or elk, get the .270. too_

johnf
Re: .270 or .270 WSM Another vote for the 270. If you want a little better performance get a reloader. Almost every conviniece store around here carries 270, 30-06, 30-30 and 243 shells. You have to drive 45 miles to get a box of 270WSM. Just a thought.
