Re: Mathews question

Swampy,

The XT is my first Mathews, also. I believe the XT is a 2006 model.

Wasn't it the Outback, Switchback, Switchback XT and now the Drenalin in 04, 05, 06 and 07?

Re: Mathews question

Pretty sure they have a new model every year, and continue to make older models for a time.

Pretty sure this was the first year for the XT. Last year was just the Switchback with no XT on it. Year before that was the Outback, year before that was the Legacy (which I shoot). Pretty sure about all that. crazy.gifsmirk.gif

I think so..I know my XT is a 06' model. Do they continue to make the Outback and Switchback and XT now still?? Like 07' models and such or how does it work.

[/ QUOTE ]

The Switchback XT, and the Switchback LD are still in production. The original Switchback, and the Outback are no longer produced.

Are you sure Scott? On the Mathews website, it shows options for all the bows under the customize tab, there is no customize tap for the original switchback. Thats why I thought it wasn't being built anymore.

I would be surprised if the original Switchback was not in production anymore. It's only been available for 2 years. I would expect this year to be it's last though.

Re: Mathews question

The next bow they come out with should be the "buyback" grin.gif They should buy it( the old one) back I mean with all the new bows they come out with , how could you ever have a state of the art Mathews?

It took me 20 years to upgrade my compound from a Bear Whitetail legend to a 03 Outback. Now the Outback is light years behind, if I wait another 20 years to upgrade, the new bow might have phasers and built in video cam on it by then grin.gif

You know...I have heard you say this same thing multiple times. Why is that you say this about Mathews, when EVERY top bow company comes out with new bows every year?

Re: Mathews question

Ken,

Bows are like new cars, each year a new model will come out with a snappier color and a few more features. You will never have the latest unless you buy each year, its a vicious expensive cycle. From what I hear about the Switchbacks I don't know how they can top themselves but they manage to do it each year. Its just such a competitive market you have to have the latest and best each and every year and it seems Mathews is also at the top! smile.gif

Just making a point on how they come out with new and better stuff constantly and its almost impossible to have state of the art... from Mathews anyway.

The Outback...the Switchback...the BUYback, thats funny to me and I thought it might be funny to others.

Did I commit a Mathews sin or something?

Its OK Tedicast... I shot all the brands before I bought...I'm a Mathews guy take it easy grin.gifwink.gif

Re: Mathews question

I know you are a Mathews guy...it is just that every company out there, comes out with their latest/greatest bow every year. It seems Mathews for some reason catches more flack then other companies for this. Not everybody upgrades every year, I'm still shooting an '04 Outback, and Am pretty happy with it. I will be buying a new bow this year, and putting a set of 40 pound limbs on the OB for my wife. She is shooting a Genisis now.

Re: Mathews question

Everyone always tries to knock off the guy at the top.

That guy is Mathews Inc. Thats why they are always a target. Its usually jellous Hoyt guys blush.gifgrin.gif

(just making a joke here Hoyt guys...don't get crazy)

My youngest boy shoots a Genesis, but my other 2 boys shoot Brownings(micro midas and Rage) for the no bow press adjustable draw lenths that grow with them.

Re: Mathews question

yes the switchback xt was made in 06, the outback in 04, the switchback in 05, and 07 is the drenalin. All there models from those years are still being made. some of the older bows have been recalled. The swithback xt has a 31in axle to axle and was the first matthews bow with harmonic dampners in the cams. Its a awesome bow and it cant be looked down on.

Not trying to bash you. Just to set a few things right.

The Outback has been discontinued. Mathews does not have dampers in the cams. Those discs in the cams of the newer bows are perimeter weights.

The XT was the first Mathews with dampers in the string suppressor arms.

Also, none of the bows have been recalled. Perhaps you meant discontinued?
