[/ QUOTE ] or the sigh of relief from the buckeye fans when they get handed the National championship if florida gets picked? i won't be crying, michigan had their shot...they should be the ones playing the buckeyes but i know it won't happen...to many of the voters will have the "i don't want a rematch" or "michigan had their shot" mentallity, instead of picking the best team out of the 2 to play... Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Down Go the Trojans! the part thats gets me is, Michigan lost to ohio state, and florida wins that day .the polls come out the next day, michigan is ahead of them still, the following week, michigan is idle and florida wins again, michigan still ahead of them, this week, michigan still idle, folrida wins and USC (who people had pretty much penciled into the Championship game) LOSES, and all of a sudden there is controversy..if they can't jump over michigan when michigan loses and then don't play, and florida wins both of those weeks..why should they now?? Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: Down Go the Trojans! what would that prove? should michigan be held out of the NC game because they play in a conference without a championship game? what if they did and they beat ohio state in the game..that would give both 1 loss..then what? would michigan go to the championship and play florida because ohio state lost its conference championship game? even though they are clearly better than florida? Conference championships games are worthless and only help give the winning team an edge because they get one extra game for instance...lets say Oklahoma had won the game vs oregon and went into yesterdays game 11-1...they of course would be among the NC game talks...but then they beat a 9-3 team for the conference championship...what does that prove? NOTHING....it would just make their record look a little better at 12-1 instead of 11-1..
mike
Re: Down Go the Trojans! florida hasn't lost since the beginning of oct. i think. they played more games tthan michigan, evidently they had a stronger strength of schedule. i am not a fan of either teams by any means but i for one wouldn't wanna see a rematch. that osu vs michigan game score didn't show how the game really went down. ohio dominated them, without some dumb turnovers that game wouldn't have been close! i don't think michigan would want anything to do with a rematch!! [/ QUOTE ] Please explain how they "dominated" michigan...stat wise..not really, 108 of those 187 yards rushing were on 2 plays...but if you are goign to play the "take away this or that game" you have to do it both ways..if it weren't for the turnovers it wouldn't have been close? well if it weren't for the 2 long runs it wouldn't have been close either, or the hemlet to helmet play that michigan had when they stopped the buckeyes on 3rd and 15...the turnovers, the missed tackles, the penalty, all mental errors, and they could happen again...Michigan is very capable of beating Ohio State. Chrud
Re: Down Go the Trojans! Whether you want to see a rematch or not, OSU/Michigan would be a much better game that OSU versus anyone else. I'm all for the best teams playing in the big games, whether they already played or won their conference or not.
Ohiobucks
Re: Down Go the Trojans! It appears to me that the Bucks had more first downs, more rushing yards total, more rush yards per attempt, more passing yards, more total offensive yards, less punts, more third down conversions, and most important - more points at the end of the game. Where didn't the Bucks man-handle the Wolverinies? Let's tee it up again and the Bucks will put all this talk to rest, again! dogdoc
Re: Down Go the Trojans! All I'm saying is if you play a conference Championship Game on a NEUTRAL site you'd actually know who the best team is!!! The NEUTRAL site is the deal---Michigan goes and plays within 3 point (or something like that) AT OSU. OR If the NCAA would finally admit that the BCS is a bunch of hog wash and a Playoff System needs to be given a chance!!!!!!

All those bowl guys want their money. I say take the top 8 or 16 teams even and let's play to see who's the best. That would work best unless Michigan is involved, cuz' if they're involved they'll cry "REMATCH, REMATCH, HOME FIELD, ONLY 3 POINTS, SLIPPED IN THE MUD, SUN GOT IN MY EYE, MY DOG ATE IT....."
