I went out Saturday AND Sunday and not only did I not call one in I didn't see any yotes at all. Soooooo disappointing! I hope for these conditions all year and then to have such poor results! sureshot Posted December 4, 2006 Report Share Posted December 4, 2006 Re: Best conditions, worst resuts ever! its wierd some times how it works! thursday was -30 here calm and fresh snow, conditions they usually are crazy in, I called 4 locations while deer huntign and never had one come in, saterday was about -10 with a 30 mph wind,blowing snow, terrable conditions, called in 6 got 5 and shot one more comign into a stand, I wish I could figure these buggers out better lol!! One thing I have figured out about perfectly calm days Is I need to be at least 1/4 mile away from the vehicle or wait alot longer, they can hear the vehicle better and will not respond! We have snow on the ground and I tried calling on two afternoons in a draw north of my parents house that I have called in five coyotes out of it the last two years and I didn't have any luck.I seen a coyote in this draw not two weeks ago and there are tracks in the snow but I didn't call any in. You spend alot of time planning and watching the weather so you will be able to be out calling just at the right time.................not too windy, not too hot, etc. Then the day arrives and you work your tail off and they just don't respond.
