wtnhunt
For the wife's bow. Got her a browning micro adrenaline for our anniversary, and she has troubles right now getting used to drawing without her arrow falling off the rest. Going to put a biscuit on for her, but not sure which model. She is shooting carbons, they are medium sized(carbon force desperado's). The standard whisker biscuit for carbons should work fine shouldn't it?

buckee
Re: what model whisker biscuit Yep, that's the one I use too. [ QUOTE ] same here! get the one thats open on the upper outside edge though, i had the original wiht out the opening before and i like the new one alot better! [/ QUOTE ] Ditto Mike. I started with the original biscuit too and modified it so it had an opening between 10 and 11 o'clock. The newer ones are great.
wtnhunt
Re: what model whisker biscuit Thanks, was trying to figure out which size and think the medium will work, ordered it from cabelas so guess if it doesn't I can always send it back. woodshed
Re: what model whisker biscuit When I bought mine I was shooting aluminum arrows. (because my ex-bow shop recommended them) I'm shooting carbons now with much better success. When I asked about getting the smaller biscuit he told me not to worry about it. 'the one I had will be fine." I shot the carbons there at the range with my original biscuit with a big hole for aluminums. They shot dead on accurate!! I still use the same biscuit. It holds the carbon arrow at the right place no problem. There is space between the top of the shaft and the whiskers but that isn't the critical area so no problems. The bottom of the hole needs to be at the right place and then your golden. My point is,,,I don't think it's that big of a deal.
LifeNRA
Re: what model whisker biscuit I have this one, I can only move the rest left or right. While getting my bow tuned I needed to move it up or down. With this rest can NOT do this! This is the one I have now, But I just might buy the Deluxe model for next year. I should have bought this one! It has more adjustment on it. If by chance you need to move the rest to get the bow shooting better, tuned. I would get this one! It costs about $10 more, which I would have glady paid knowing the problems I ran into. This rest you can move it up or down and also left and right! wtnhunt
Re: what model whisker biscuit John, can you not move the rest up or down by loosening your bolt and adjusting the arm for the rest? Sure hope I can tune it with the standard biscuit, that is what I got on its way for her.
LifeNRA
Re: what model whisker biscuit The standard one has a round shaft that gets clamped in the holder. That probably can be adjusted. But I didnt want the round shaft because if it got bumped, there might be a chance it would move. The deluxe version has the micro adjustments for up and down. Then you have the middle version which is what I have now. That can only be adjusted left or right. Since its on a square shaft, you might not be able to move up or down if needed. I couldn't, because it started to tilt the biscuit, and did not keep it square with the arrow. I would imagine, if it was tilted too far. I could make some noise, or slow the arrow down. I just giving you the problems I had. If I would have known this I would have bought the deluxe version.
Guest forsythe04
Re: what model whisker biscuit al you would need is the original whisker biscuit. i believe a rest is an item where you dont need the miro adjust or fancy add ons. when the bow in tuned in for the centershot it will no longer need adjusted. the original has complete range of adjustability. save ursefl some cash ...39.99 at cebelas can catch em on sale for 29.99 alot there
LifeNRA
Re: what model whisker biscuit William, I sure that rest you bought will be fine, I just didnt want the one with the round shaft. The square shaft will not move as easy as the one with the round one. Yes you can save some money, but if there is something better, Ill get it! [/ QUOTE ] same here but i am a firm beleiver in the "there must be a catch" way of thinking [/ QUOTE ] we have the air rest at cabelas and i havnt out one on a bow yet. nice idea but horrible.. heres why Its to begin with pretty pricey. ontop of that the magnetic inserts weigh a ton. also, if you were to keep or over extend ur draw the slightest bit the magetic field is lost and your arrow will fall onto the rest, imagine releasing ur arrow on a nice buck with that. I saw you mentioned no contact. I would say look into a drop away rest, upon the release of the arrow the rest immediately falls allowing the arrow not to have any contacct during flight. you can find them alot cheaper too. i personally shoot the hunter ultra rest (49.99) other great drop aways are the trophy takers. I hope you decide against that rest and choose a more reliable rest such as a dropaway
wtnhunt
Re: what model whisker biscuit Thanks for all the responses everyone. I am sure the biscuit will eliminate her falling arrow during drawing problem. Think the medium size will fit her arrows too. Will probably end up putting one on my bow eventually too, but will need the small size for carbons with outserts, and that is only available in the deluxe model. Either enjoy the extra kenetic energy or drop to a lighter head. You have a bit of distance to play with the magnetic field. I have talked to several people who used it and they LOVE it. But with consideration of price, I am torn between the Zero Effect and Air Rest.
